The business is integrated across the value chain – from managing forests and producing pulp, paper and films, to developing and manufacturing sustainable consumer and industrial packaging solutions using paper where possible, plastic when useful.
The Problem
Mondi’s management at its Slovak production facility was searching for a solution that would improve the working condition for its team of maintenance workers by augmenting processes to improve the quality of operations, as well as making them faster and more efficient.
The Solution
Mondi turned to RealWear partner AYES in finding a suitable solution in the realm of smart glasses and Assisted Reality. Together, they determined that RealWear Navigator™ 500 combined with TeamViewer Frontline xAssist software along with service support and consultancy provided by AYES.
The Result
RealWear Navigator 500 proved to be ideal for the harsh industrial environments that were filled with noise and dust. With hands-free voice control, Mondi is now able to standardize their processes which previously relied on amateur camerawork shot on mobile phones and distributed to the recipient via email. Using TeamViewer Frontline xAssist, Mondi can speed up repairs by remotely connecting to a technical expert in real-time. The solution is now being rolled out globally.
“Some work of the maintenance team could not be performed, or it was done in a very complicated and a bit amateurish way using videos made with mobile phones. The videos were then downloaded to computers and sent with comments by e-mail, which was a bit clumsy. Thanks to smart glasses, the whole process is much more professional.”
